Fun fact 4/10/2017

The Latin phrase “Panem et Circenses” translates into “Bread and Circuses.” Coined by Roman satirist Juvenal, the phrase points out the idea of sustenance and entertainment provided by the government in order to appease and suppress public discontent. This was the inspiration of the name “Panem”, the dystopian nation in the Hunger Games books.
