Fun fact 6/12/2016

In the 16th century in Britain, the Canis vertigus, or turnspit dog, was an essential part of every large kitchen in Britain. The turnspit was bred especially to run on a wheel that turned meat so it would cook evenly. Over time, the turnspit dogs became a stigma of poverty, and became extinct. It is believed that the modern day Welsh corgi is the most similar breed to the turnspit.
