We owe the Age of Enlightenment (Newton, Galileo, Hobbes, Bacon, Descartes, etc.) to coffee! In the 18th century, coffee houses became an integral part of urban, English society, which is where the budding of these ideas initially occurred. Alcohol was the drink of choice before coffeehouses.
